Paul Sturtevant, Town Creek Marina’s newest sales team member, likes to tell people he has the H2O gene. Water, he says, is in his blood, and there’s nothing he enjoys more than being surrounded by it, or taking a boat out to sea.
“I was hired four weeks ago, and I am proud to be part of the Town Creek Marina staff,” Paul says.
A native New Englander, Paul lived in Maine until he was tired of the extreme weather of the winter seasons. Moving south, and settling in Stuart, Florida, he continued his career of selling boats for over 10 years. After battling three hurricanes in Florida, he had an opportunity to move to Lake Lanier, Georgia. He did not like being land-locked.
“When you’ve lived on the water and been able to take a trip to the Bahamas by boat, it is hard to adjust to the change of freedom you get from the sea,” he says.
Paul moved further up the coast to Isle of Palms, South Carolina, before finally setting his sights on Beaufort, North Carolina and Town Creek Marina. “We hired Paul because of his expertise in large boats and yachts. His specialty is the Sea Ray brand, and although we don’t represent that line in new boat sales, we sell many boats over 32 feet,” Chuck Tulevech says. “Paul knows the benefits of large boats, between 30 to 56 foot models, and this knowledge is helpful to our Town Creek clients.”
"I have traveled extensively to the Bahamas. It is absolutely one of my favorite places on earth, so I started capturing landscapes on the beaches," Paul says. With a digital camera in his hand, Paul is examining the new terrain of eastern North Carolina. Paul’s scenic ocean prints and landscapes, primarily of the Bahamas, are being sold through interior decorators. “Capturing that tranquil moment, of land and sea, is what I enjoy,” Paul says. “And, getting to those special places, by boat, is what I truly enjoy sharing with my clients. We can cruise by Cape Lookout, or travel even farther out to sea.”
Give Paul Sturtevant a call at extension 135, and discover the Carolina coast. With Paul doing the talking and the selling, you may soon discover that you, like Paul, have the H2O gene.

Spring is quickly approaching Beaufort. And, the fisherman, boaters and land travelers will soon be entering Town Creek’s confines. One reason it is so nice to visit Town Creek, by land or sea, is the availability of dining at the Sandbar Restaurant. The Sandbar is Open for 2008, and is looking forward to receiving guests during the Town Creek Open House!
We are truly pleased to announce that Maria Costa has returned to the Sandbar as Chef. After leaving for her native New Jersey, to assist with the care of her Grandmother, she realized that Carteret County is forevermore home. “I missed my life here. And, I missed working at the Sandbar.”
Fortunately, Sandbar owner Claire Tulevech bumped into Maria while supermarket shopping. Maria had decided to return to Carteret County and further her education in Culinary Technologies and Hotel and Restaurant Management. Sometimes things happen for a reason, and Claire soon asked Maria to return to the Sandbar.
Regular diners will quickly note the Sandbar’s new 2008 menu changes. Chicken, Salmon, Steaks and Veal will be served in a diner’s choice of picatta, peasant, privateer and Salvatore sauces. Both Petite (lunch) portions, and Dinner portions, are available all day. “We offer great service, and we want to give our customers the meals and drinks that help make their day even more enjoyable,” says Maria.
Maria has been working in the restaurant industry for 27 years, and she enjoys creating new dishes and especially making her clients happy. Maria’s love of the restaurant business has also lured her sons. Joseph Costa is Sandbar’s Sous Chef, and son Christopher Held is assisting with the bar keeping and wait staff. Son Anthony works in the restaurant business, too.
Watching Gallant’s Channel, the Beaufort (Grayden Paul) drawbridge and the Newport River from the porch of the Sandbar gives one a unique perspective of relaxation. Located upstairs at Town Creek, the Sandbar offers diners a breathtaking setting and a memorable meal. Sandbar diners, and Tiki Bar flies, can watch playing dolphins for endless amusement. The spectacular sunsets can be truly amazing. |

Town Creek Marina Launches New Website
TownCreekMarina.com has garnered a whole new look and navigation. We are pleased to announce the re-launch of our newly designed website, just in time for a spring boating season. Our new design was created with ease of navigation, giving our clients ready accessibility to our new and used boat information. We want our customers to find what they're looking for expeditiously, whether it is information on service or an upcoming Town Creek sponsored tournaments.
On our new site you'll find complete inventory listings of new boats from World Cat, Everglades, and Twin Vee, as well as links to our manufacturers. We continue our sales partnership with YachtWorld.com to make searching for listings of all available boats a breeze. "Our clients love the convenience of online browsing," says Sales Manager, Lisa Alley, "and they often know the boats they want to see, or investigate, before they call us. The website allows you to search boats by size, make, and model. Giving our clients shopping convenience online, makes sales easier and keeps our customers abreast of the latest in boating features. “
The website features the latest information about Town Creek Marina staff and services, archived newsletters and marina amenities. Information, such as the web cams, continues to be updated. “Anything you need to know about Town Creek Marina, and our staff, will be found within the pages of our new website,” says Chuck Tulevech, General Manager. “ We have even included links to The Sandbar Restaurant, whose culinary delights bring satisfied customers back time and time again.”
"We agreed it was time to take Town Creek's web presence to the next level," states Georgina Quinn of InTandem, Town Creek Marina's agency of record. "There are several positive changes at Town Creek, and the online newsletter and website will reflect a proactive approach to communicating with our Town Creek clients."
We look forward to your next visit to Beaufort. We'll see you at the Creek!
